What is it like in a coal pit?

Britain's last deep coal mine closes on Friday, with the loss of 450 jobs.

When last shift comes up from Kellingley in North Yorkshire it will be the end of deep pit coal mining in the UK.

Chris Kitchen, general secretary of the National Union of Mineworkers and former Kellingley miner, explains what it is like to go down in the pit.
