UK left Helmand too soon, former army captain says

British military personnel have been deployed to Afghanistan's Helmand province as reports suggest the Taliban is close to overrunning Sangin town.

The Ministry of Defence says a small number of personnel have been sent to Camp Shorabak - better known as Camp Bastion - in an "advisory role".

Captain Doug Beattie, who served in Afghanistan, told BBC Radio 5 Live that it looks as if Britain pulled out of the country two years too early.
