UK Muslim dad: US stopped my family flying to Disneyland

A British Muslim family of 11 who were due to fly to Disneyland say they were barred from boarding a flight to Los Angeles by US authorities at London’s Gatwick Airport.

They claim that US Department of Homeland Security officials have given no explanation to the family to why they were refused to board, even though they had been granted travel authorisation online under the Visa Waiver programme, ahead of their planned family holiday on the 15th December.

Dad Mohammed Zahid Mahmood told Radio 5 live Daily that the incident was "embarrassing," as they were "the only family that was of Asian, Muslim, sort of, appearance".

"When they saw me shaking my head, the younger ones started crying, they knew straight away," he said.
