Prince of Wales pays tribute to armed forces

The Prince of Wales has paid tribute to the "personal sacrifice" of Britain's servicemen and women in a Christmas message to the armed forces.

Almost 23,000 military personnel have been stationed or deployed abroad over the festive period.

Prince Charles told Forces TV and British Forces Broadcasting Services Radio that while many of the news headlines around the world appeared "rather grim", they were a reminder of the "vital importance" of the military.
