UK floods: David Cameron pledges £280m for Yorkshire flood defences

Prime Minister David Cameron has promised more money for flood prevention in Yorkshire - but admitted it was ''no comfort'' for those in the flood-hit city of York.

Parts of York are under water after the rivers Ouse and Foss spilled over their banks.

Emergency teams have been working through the night to build up flood defences, and hundreds of homes have been evacuated.
