RAF Chinook helicopter airlifts supplies needed to repair barrier

An RAF Chinook helicopter has airlifted equipment needed to repair the Foss Barrier on the the River Foss in York.

The River Ouse is now thought to have stabilised in York, where hundreds of people had to leave flooded homes following torrential rain.

More rain is forecast for Wednesday but the Environment Agency says the city is safe from further flooding for now.
