Scotland floods: Homes evacuated as River Don burst its banks

Dozens of people, including elderly people and babies, had to be moved from their homes by ambulance and boat, after the River Don burst its banks in Aberdeenshire overnight.

Rescue workers struggled in freezing temperatures, snow and fast-rising waters to reach homes in Inverurie, near Aberdeen.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) issued two severe flood warnings as some water levels reached record highs.
