'Port Talbot has been shaped by the steelworks'

More than 1,000 jobs are being cut at Tata Steel, the majority at the Port Talbot plant in south Wales.

Port Talbot has been synonymous with the steel industry for 60 years.

Local historian, Louise Miskell, who is a professor of history at Swansea University, grew up in Port Talbot. She assesses the impact of the job losses on the town.
