Longleat, the world's first safari park, celebrates 50 years

Fifty years ago, visitors to Longleat House in Wiltshire were invited to take part in a world first - an invitation to drive their own cars among a pride of wild lions.

The concept of the safari park was born, and since then, millions have come face-to-face with lions, tigers and rhinos, with only a car window between them.
