Paris climate deal signed: a new note on a long journey

Representatives of more than 170 countries are committing to the world's first comprehensive treaty to tackle climate change, at a ceremony at the United Nations in New York.

The agreement seeks to keep the increase in global temperatures below two degrees Celsius.
