'My 11-year-old child had a spit hood over her head'

An 11-year-old girl with a neurological disability was handcuffed and restrained with a mesh hood and leg straps while in custody, the police watchdog found.

Her mother described her treatment by Sussex Police as barbaric and disgusting.
