'Texting driver had nine seconds to see my brother'

The illegal use of mobile phones while people drive is rising dramatically, according to research from the motoring organisation the RAC.

Cyclist Lee Martin was killed when he was hit by a van going at 65mph on a clear road.

The driver was writing a text message behind the wheel - an offence he had been caught eight times for in the past.

Lee Martin's brother Darrell told the Today programme how he felt following the sentencing of the driver, Christopher Gard, to nine years in prison.
