Former gymnast talks about her plea for amputation
A former gymnast has launched a crowdfunding page in a bid to get her leg amputated to end her daily chronic pain.
Jessica Laughton, 22, who starred as a gymnast at school, has a condition called complex regional pain syndrome, which occurred while competing as a gymnast when she was 12 years old.
She told BBC 5 live Daily's Emma Barnett that she launched an appeal to raise the £10,000 because she can't get the life-changing treatment on the NHS.
"It terrifies me but the other option is that I'm in this bed for the rest of my life and that terrifies me even more."
