Andrew Marr speaks to International Trade Secretary Liam Fox

The International Trade Secretary Liam Fox has said he will tell Cabinet privately whether he thinks the UK should stay inside the customs union or not once the country has left the EU.

In his first TV interview since becoming International Trade Secretary, Mr Fox told the Andrew Marr programme that he would argue his case on the customs union privately inside cabinet, rather than divulge his position on the programme.

He said the government was still debating the issue, but said there would be "limitations" if Britain was to remain inside it.
