Dean Saunders' mother: 'I told prison officials he would kill himself'

An investigation into the death of a prisoner has found a catalogue of failures contributed to his suicide and he should have been in hospital not prison.

The Prison Ombudsman said that staff ignored significant risk factors when they cut back observation of Dean Saunders.

He killed himself at Chelmsford Prison in Essex in January 2016.

Dean's parents spoke to the BBC.
