Archbishop of Canterbury: Abuse 'won't be covered up'
Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby said boys allegedly beaten by one of his former colleagues in the 1970s were "deeply let down" when their claims weren't reported to police.
Mr Welby said he had been "completely unaware" of the allegations against the barrister, John Smyth QC, who ran summer camps with close links to the Church of England.
The archbishop has apologised on behalf of the Church and said any investigations of abuse would not be covered up.
