Gay Christians 'feel betrayed' by Church's stance on sexuality

Gay and lesbian Christians who were consulted by the Church feel "betrayed" by its stance on sexuality, the former bishop of Worcester has said.

The Rt Rev Peter Selby is one of 14 retired bishops who have criticised the Church's position on sexuality, days before a crucial debate at the governing general synod.

Last month, a report recommended the Church's opposition to same-sex marriage should not be changed.
