The Earl of Wessex reveals how he would like to spend his 50th birthday

As the Earl of Wessex reaches his 50th birthday, he tells BBC News School Reporters from Hove Park School in Sussex how he would like to spend his special day.

The students wrote to the prince to request an interview after realising the landmark he was approaching and he was so impressed with their letter that he agreed to meet them at Buckingham Palace.

During the interview, Prince Edward also talks about the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and reveals what has been the most memorable event of his life so far.

This report was originally broadcast as part of BBC News School Report, which is a project for secondary school students around the UK aged between 11 and 16 which allows them to make their own news.
