Osborne: 'I will speak for London and Londoners'

Former Chancellor George Osborne has been appointed as the new editor of the London Evening Standard.

Mr Osborne, who will remain an MP, has already taken a part-time job with investment firm BlackRock. He will start his new role in May.

He told London Live, which is owned by ESTV - the same company that owns the Standard newspaper - that he would "speak for London and Londoners".
