Tory MP Tom Tugendhat: 'We abandoned the Afghan people'

Conservative MP Tom Tugendhat has denounced the withdrawal of Nato troops in Afghanistan, saying "we abandoned the Afghan people".

The chair of Foreign Affairs Committee, who served in Afghanistan for the British army, said witnessing the destruction as Taliban militants advanced was "absolutely heartbreaking particularly when it was so unnecessary".
