Afghanistan: PM tells Taliban 'safe passage is absolutely paramount'

The prime minister says safe passage for those eligible to leave Kabul is paramount, as the UK enters the final stages of the evacuation programme.

Boris Johnson said if the Taliban want to have a relationship with the West they must ensure that people can leave safely.

Currently, evacuations and foreign troop withdrawals are set to be completed by 31 August, a deadline agreed with the Taliban.
