Rail strike: Government is making strike negotiations worse - RMT boss
A deal with rail bosses could have been made by now, had it not been for the government making things worse, RMT general secretary Mick Lynch has said.
Mr Lynch criticised the government's involvement as the strikes move into their second day.
The chair of the Rail Delivery Group, which represents train operators, said it was not clear that there would be compulsory redundancies.
Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Steve Montgomery said that would depend on a number of factors, including the extent of the reforms, voluntary severance schemes and how many workers can be retrained.
