Detective Chief Superintendent Clair Kelland's voice broke with emotion as she announced that an eight-year-old girl had died following a cat crash at a school in Wimbledon.

She went on to confirm that the driver - a woman in her forties - had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
