Paratroopers and drone show mark D-Day 80th anniversary
Several events have taken place in the UK and France to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings during the Second World War.
In Portsmouth in England, King Charles called on people to live up to the freedom that Allied soldiers died for, paying tribute to them and to surviving veterans.
The ceremony included a fly-past by two Dakota aircraft, as well as interviews with veterans.
In Normandy in France, paratroopers from the British, Belgian, Canadian and US military took part in a parachute jump display near Sannerville, which was a designated drop on 6 June 1944.
Five years ago, 225 veterans travelled to Normandy for commemorations, this year there were 23.
