Navy HQ to make way for tram line in Nottingham

A building which housed the Nottingham Royal Naval Association is to be demolished to make way for the city's new tram extension.

The 158-year-old building, in Arkwright Street, was the organisation's base until the late 1960s.

Former naval officer Tom Rotherham, from Shardlow, Derbyshire, said it was a great shame that it had to be destroyed.
