Council tax protest over Paddock Wood caravans

Residents living near an illegal travellers' site in Kent have threatened to withhold their council tax until the local authority evicts the people there.

At least 20 householders in Paddock Wood have signed a statement protesting at what they claim is council inaction.

But Maidstone Borough Council said it had taken steps to prevent any more caravans appearing on the site and also warned the residents that they risked prosecution.
