Paddy the Olympic torch horse is home in West Yorkshire

Paddy, the horse that carried Harvey Smith and the Olympic torch on York Racecourse, is back home in West Yorkshire.

Mr Smith, the 74-year-old Yorkshireman, lit the cauldron at York racecourse in front of about 25,000 people.

The former Olympic horseman said: "I am very honoured for the whole of Yorkshire."

Paddy is now getting a well-earned rest at his stable in Baildon.
