Julian Assange's Kent friend defends bail move

A Kent woman who put up bail for Julian Assange and gave him a home for several months explains why she helped him.

Sarah Saunders, of Tunbridge Wells, said it was the right thing to do to support the Wikileaks founder, who has been granted asylum by Ecuador in his fight to avoid extradition to Sweden over sex assault allegations.

Mr Assange has denied any wrongdoing, saying the sex was consensual and the allegations are politically motivated.

He has also said he fears onward extradition to the US if extradited to Sweden because of his website's publication of confidential documents.
