Recession forces 400-year-old tailor's shop to close

A 400-year-old tailor's shop, thought to be the world's oldest men's clothing store in continuous use, has been forced to close by the recession.

Since 1601 the timber-framed building in Bishop's Stortford has been a tailor's shop.

Tissimans, named after the family who took it over in the late 18th Century, closes next month when the current lease expires.
