Hillsborough father meets 'hero' PC in reunion

BBC Inside Out looks at the reunion between two men whose lives were changed by the Hillsborough tragedy.

Trevor Hicks, who lost his two daughters, and Peter McGuinness, the policeman who tried to save one of those girls, met for the first time since the disaster almost 25 years ago.

Mr Hicks wanted to thank the PC who he called his own "personal hero" and described him as "the bobby who did a good job on the day".

He said the reunion was "long overdue" following the inquiry and controversies over policing at Hillsborough.

Peter McGuinness welcomed the reunion and described the two men's feelings on meeting up.

Inside Out Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and North West are broadcast on Monday 18 February on BBC One at 19:30 GMT and nationwide on the iPlayer for seven days thereafter.
