Richard III: Row continues over new burial site

The leader of Scarborough Borough Council has told the BBC he has written to the Prime Minister asking for King Richard III's remains to be taken to North Yorkshire.

Thousands of people have signed an online e-petition to the government calling for the monarch to be buried at York Minster, after his bones were discovered under a car park in Leicester.

A rival e-petition calling for the king's remains to remain in Leicester has also received thousands of signatures.

Conservative Councillor Tom Fox questioned whether Leicester could be trusted with the monarch's remains, arguing the city "misplaced him for 500 years".
