Hastings and Ramsgate share in £16m fund

Two seaside towns in Kent and East Sussex are to get a share of a major government grant to help their regeneration.

Hastings will receive over £1m, some of which will be used to establish a restaurant on the pier when it's restored.

The Marlowe Innovation Centre in Ramsgate has been awarded nearly £350,000 to help it support local businesses and create 70 new jobs.

The announcement was made by the communities minister Nick Boles, who was in Ramsgate.
