Durham Police wanted crash scammer Alan Wright 'for years'
One of the men behind a massive "crash-for-cash" scam in Durham had been pursued "for years", police said.
Sixty people were behind the fake whiplash compensation plot leading to false insurance claims netting millions of pounds, Newcastle Crown Court heard.
Durham Police said they had wanted to put one of the men behind it, Alan Wright, behind bars "for years".
The scam was controlled by members of a family the police said caused "endless" problems.
Look North Chief Reporter Chris Stewart met Wright and found out how the scam was operated.
