Patient 'pleased' over East Midlands Ambulance Service fine

A patient who had to wait two hours for an ambulance says she is pleased East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) has been fined for a third successive year after it failed to meet national targets.

Elsie Hubbard, 88, from Wymeswold, Leicestershire, broke her hip when she fell in her garden in December 2011.

The ambulance service said the delay had been caused because it had been busy dealing with immediately life-threatening incidents on the day.
