People-smuggling arrests after English Channel rescue

Ten people were arrested by French authorities on suspicion of involvement in people smuggling after a dramatic sea rescue in the English Channel.

A UK lifeboat and RAF helicopter were involved after one of two inflatable craft carrying two Britons and eight Vietnamese people capsized.

One person was taken to hospital in Calais and the rest taken for questioning. All were arrested, according to police.
