Thames Estuary wind farm opened by David Cameron
An offshore wind farm has been opened in the Thames Estuary by Prime Minister David Cameron as plans were announced for a new centre to train energy workers.
Up to 500,000 homes could be powered by the 175 turbines at the London Array, five miles off Clacton, in Essex.
Now, with more developments in the pipeline, plans have been revealed for an £11m centre at Great Yarmouth, in Norfolk, to train workers in the UK energy industry to fill a growing skills gap.
The Energy Production Innovation Skills Centre is backed by the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR).
