Birmingham NHS Trust pledges to keep emergency care in Redditch

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust has said it will keep emergency care services at Redditch's main hospital if a takeover is successful.

Trust manager Dame Julie Moore said the A&E would be "a 24-hour service" and consultant led.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the Alexandra Hospital, needs to save £50m by 2015.

BBC Midlands Today's Michele Paduano also spoke to Neil Stoat from Save the Alex campaign who said he just wants services to be accessible.
