The Smiths' Southern Cemetery is wildlife oasis

Southern Cemetery in Chorlton-cum-Hardy is the biggest municipal graveyard in England, made famous by The Smiths' song Cemetery Gates.

But amongst the gravestones of Sir Matt Busby, LS Lowry and Anthony Wilson, it provides an oasis for urban wildlife.

Wildlife presenter David Lindo finds the cemetery is teeming with nature from birds and bugs to grey squirrels, who have made it their home.

Urban Jungle is broadcast on Thursday, 1 August at 19:00 BST on BBC One North West and nationwide on the iPlayer for seven days thereafter.
