Arrests as Balcombe, Sussex drilling protests dispersed by police

Police have dispersed hundreds of anti-fracking demonstrators and made a number of arrests after a day of sustained protests against a company's oil drilling in West Sussex.

Green Party MP Caroline Lucas was among those arrested at the site near Balcombe for refusing to move from a road block, despite police serving a Public Order Act notice.

Further protests took place at the company's headquarters in Lichfield and at their PR firm in London.
