Keanu Williams murder: 'Nothing changes', says MP

The authorities missed several chances to stop a mother from beating her young son to death, a report has found.

Rebecca Shuttleworth is serving a life sentence for murdering two-year-old Keanu Williams in Ward End, Birmingham.

A serious case review said social care workers, the police and health professionals had "collectively failed to prevent Keanu's death".

MP for Birmingham Khalid Mahmood criticised the authorities, saying: "This is the 23rd case review since 2006, so that is not good enough...the most vulnerable people in society are losing their lives because of this."
