First Ofsted report for East Midlands
Education watchdog Ofsted has published its first ever report reviewing standards in schools across the East Midlands.
The annual report for the region found that the proportion of good or better primary schools had increased from 65% to 77%.
However, while there were signs of improvement, Ofsted said many children were getting an education which was mediocre or worse.
Louise Soden, Ofsted regional director for the East Midlands, said some children in the region were being "let down" by their school.
