Queen's honour 'like 10 Christmases'

One of the people honoured in the Queen's New Year Honours list said receiving it was "like 10 Christmases had come at once".

Rachel de Souza, who has turned around failing schools from Luton to Norfolk, has been made a dame for her services to education.

Chairman of the Normandy Veterans Association Edward Slater, from Colchester, Essex, has been made an MBE as has Betty Baines, from Diss in Norfolk, for services to bell ringing.
