West Midlands' arts groups unite in funding cuts

As arts groups prepare crucial January funding bids, BBC News reporter Satnam Rana looks at the survival strategies used by some local organisations.

She speaks to Rachael Savage, artistic director of Vamos Theatre, and Dorothy Wilson, from mac, who have formed separate partnerships.

The largest of these, Birmingham Arts Partnership (BAP) is made up of 14 city arts organisations working together to attract investment.

Ms Wilson said: "We're not allowing ourselves to be in competition with each other."

Peter Knott, from Arts Council England, said the organisation aimed to support local arts to be "as strong as they possibly can".
