£1bn cost of Devon and Cornwall roads repairs

The estimated cost of repairing Devon and Cornwall's roads is being put at more than £1bn.

Councils are blaming years of under-investment and say the situation has been exacerbated by months of bad weather.

The Department for Transport says more than £3bn is being spent nationally on improving roads and filling in potholes.
