Syria fighters: Appeal for help to Manchester mothers

Mothers in Manchester have been asked to watch for signs that family members are planning to go to Syria to fight in the conflict there.

Greater Manchester Police said they are worried about the number of young Muslim men travelling from the North West to fight in the civil war.

The North West Counter Terrorism Unit held a Syria awareness day at the British Muslim Heritage Centre in Whalley Range, Manchester.

In February amateur boxer Anil Khalil Raoufi, 20, from Didsbury was killed in the conflict.
