South of England's flood defences spending cuts

Spending on flood defences in Dorset and Wiltshire fell by more than a quarter under the government's austerity savings, figures obtained by the BBC have revealed.

The government said more funding to help deal with the aftermath of recent storms and floods had been allocated.

The news coincided with a ministerial visit to Hampshire.

BBC South Today's Briony Leyland reports.
