Manhole explodes in central London

Footage has emerged of a fire in central London which started after a manhole exploded and spread to a nearby van on Piccadilly on Wednesday night.

The footage, filmed by Ben Hubbard who works for the BBC, shows firefighters trying to tow the vehicle away from the area as explosions are heard.
