Grand Depart organiser Gary Verity wins Yorkshire Award

The man who brought the Tour de France to Yorkshire has been named Man of the Year at the 2014 Yorkshire Awards.

Gary Verity, the chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, brought the first two stages of the Tour de France to the county.

Mr Verity said: "I'm sure there are loads of people who should have this award before me and I feel very humble about it."
