Green light for South West roads improvements

The government has outlined improvements to transport links across the country including in the South West.

Plans include dualling the A303 as far as Ilminster and improving the A358 link road to Taunton.

The A303 will not be dualled through Devon's Blackdown Hills beauty spot.

In Cornwall, the government is also funding a scheme to dual the A30 through a notorious bottleneck between Carland Cross and Chiverton.
