Gatwick protesters in Downing Street

A second runway at Gatwick would have a "devastating impact" on the surrounding area, according to protesters and MPs who have delivered a series of documents to Downing Street.

But at an event held at the airport, local entrepreneurs said they believed expansion would bring a huge boost to the local economy and create thousands of jobs.

South East Today's Eleanor Roper spoke to Richard Streatfield of High Weald Councils Aviation Action Group, Aly Cranston of Boredom Busting Boxes for Kids, Theresa Hamilton of East is East Home Accessories and Chief Commercial Officer of Gatwick Airport, Guy Stephenson.
